Solo A Star Wars Story reviews

Solo: A Star Wars Story is about to land in theaters after a highly-publicized and turbulent flight, and if you’ll allow me to belabor the metaphor, it sounds as if director Ron Howard managed to pull this particular spaceship out of a potentially disastrous nosedive and smooth things out in a satisfying way.

The Solo A Star Wars Story reviews are in, and despite the fact that exactly no one asked for a Han Solo origin film, critics are largely pleased with the latest entry in this franchise. Read excerpts from a handful of reviews below.

Warwick Davis Solo Cameo - Rogue One: A Star Wars Story

We’re still a little over a week away from Solo: A Star Wars Story hitting theaters. But since the film played the Cannes Film Festival, there have been some screenings a bit earlier in advance than usual, and that means some interesting details are coming to light. We’re not going to dive into any of the spoilers from the movie just yet, but we do have one intriguing detail that even the most hardcore Star Wars fans wouldn’t realize upon their first viewing of Solo.

Warwick Davis first appeared in the Star Wars saga as Wicket the Ewok in Return of the Jedi and since then he’s had little cameo roles in The Phantom Menace, The Force Awakens, The Last Jedi and Rogue One (seen above). We already knew the actor was also appearing in Solo: A Star Wars Story as well, but now we know who he’s playing, and it appears to be one of the characters he portrayed in one of the previous Star Wars films. Harrison Ford Surprises Alden Ehrenreich

Last week at the premiere of Solo: A Star Wars Story there was no sign of Harrison Ford. Since the actor was finally given the opportunity to walk away from Star Wars after the death of Han Solo in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, you can hardly blame him for wanting to stay away from the hordes of fans who go crazy whenever he shows up. Plus, he probably wanted to let the film’s star Alden Ehrenreich have the spotlight as the charming smuggler.

For any fans thinking that Harrison Ford’s absence was a little worrisome, we have some good news. The original Han Solo caught the young Han Solo off guard during a recent on camera interview when Harrison Ford surprised Alden Ehrenreich in the middle of an on-camera interview. You can check out the cool reunion of the two actors in a video below. Read More »
